Finca Esquipulas was born from a deep love for coffee and a coffee-growing heritage that runs through the veins of its founder, Arlin Andino. Originally from Jinotega, Nicaragua, Arlin grew up surrounded by coffee plantations, listening as a child to the sounds of the harvest and breathing in the aroma of freshly picked beans. Although she was always close to the world of coffee, it wasn’t until 2017 that she decided to forge her own path as an independent producer.

Since then, Finca Esquipulas has been more than just a farm, it has been Arlin’s dream come true. For her, coffee is much more than a job. It is a passion, a way of life that requires commitment, consistency, and dedication at every stage of the process. Arlin has learned that producing high-quality coffee is not a matter of luck or a good year; it is the result of paying attention to every detail, from planting to cup.

Beyond focusing on quality, Arlin has embraced a strong responsibility toward the environment. On her farm, she actively protects water sources and practices sustainable coffee cultivation. She also takes pride in paying fair prices to those who work with her, knowing that behind every cup are many hands and many stories.

Regarding varieties, Arlin cultivates Caturra, Red Catuai, and Yellow Catuai, while also investing in traditional varieties with specialty potential. “I am not afraid of coffee leaf rust,” she says, “I take advantage of my farm’s climate to produce the best coffee possible.”

But Arlin’s commitment goes beyond coffee. Today, she is also working for the development of her community, building a school on the farm ,a place where children can study, learn about coffee, and dream of a better future.

For Arlin, every cup of coffee that comes from Finca Esquipulas reflects all that hard work, love, and dedication. “When someone drinks our coffee, they are drinking the effort of everyone who put their hands into it,” she says. That is the true value of what we do.
